Thank you for your contribution @ananya.k but I'll need to modify this slightly to stay in step with the group module. The merge request I created above updates the module to work with Drupal 11 but drops Drupal 9 support to stay in step with Group 3.x. Once I have a few other tasks completed I'll create a new separate release with this change.

Marking this as fixed but not going to close it until I've had a chance to make some additional changes to the 3.x branch and do more testing to be sure those changes will work with D11.
