Problem/Motivation

This configuration is pretty much useless and can be removed. Using the configuration object as a storage for default values is also a risk - anyone can remove it.

We should remove it from existing installations and make sure there is no remaining usage.

We couldn't fully remove the config usage, because this is part of the upgrade path. The complete removal will be done in 3.0 version.
