Great! Thanks for the contribution. I assume you have tested this (working) yourself, but I am not able to test it myself. Is there perhaps anyone else who can confirm this works the way it should?

Yes I tested it, you can take a look at feed generated with this code https://rud-garden.com/google-rss-2-0-feed.xml
