Install via Composer

If your site is managed by Composer, use Composer to download the Gin Admin Theme, in your terminal run:

composer require 'drupal/gin'

Otherwise, you can copy / upload it to your theme directory within you Drupal installation.

⚠️ Unable to install / Unable to update

This might be related to your minimum-stability setting in composer. Solution:

composer require drupal/gin_toolbar:^2.0 drupal/gin:^4.0

Activate Gin

via Drush

drush theme:enable gin

via Administration UI

To install Gin using the Drupal administration UI, go to

• Admin → Appearance

Located at the bottom of the page is a section called Administration theme, choose ‘Gin’ from the select list and save the configuration.
