For cck locations, the implementations of hook_field_formatter_info() and hook_field_formatter_view() still need completing.

These should replace the cck formatter theme functions.

Location cck formatters have now been ported.

Gmap related formatters are not working but I still have to track down that issue and see if it is on this end or the gmap end.

In case this can help to figure out about the Gmap formatters:

after enabling "Location map block", maps are displaying, one for the block and one for the Location CCK node.

with no block enabled, the node is displaying all the CCK information but the map, with this message: "Javascript is required to view this map."

On another hand, in addition to set max. numbers of node location to 0 (in order to make CCK location able to save) I had to disable the display of node locations when editing the content type, if not is duplicating the display of the information in the node. Is this the way to go?

This is because the process of the location cck field displaying the map (using theme_gmap()) doesn't seem to be adding the required javascript.
But when the other block is enabled it loads the gmap javascript correctly and so it works for all maps on that page.
That is what makes me think it is either a problem with the theme_gmap() function in the gmap module or the way that theme_gmap() works has changed so the way it is called from the location module needs to be changed.

I believe this issue has been around for a while and is also in the D6 version.
disabling the display of node locations should be a suitable solution.
I might also look at making the code that displays the node locations check the max locations setting and if it is zero don't display anything.

For the sake of making things easier for people to find, marking this as fixed because the title of this issue is fixed (see #2).
The map formatters not working is technically a different issue.
