I am a 37 year veteran of the IT industry, having worked for some of the largest consulting and software companies in the world (Andersen Consulting/Accenture, Oracle, IBM). In 1987-1989 I took a position with the National Science Foundation at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center as the director of center operations. I was involved in the birth of the Internet as the NSF took over DARPAnet and created the NSFnet (which became PSInet which became the Internet). I joined forces with a young company in Mt. View California in 1994 - Netscape Communications - and traveled the world speaking about this new world of a connected planet. I've worked with hundreds of companies over the past 20 years, helping them craft their online strategy, architect their online solutions, and build successful online presences. In 1995 I began building online sites knowing that there had to be a better, faster, easier way to assemble content - and began to explore the options in the market. I began teaching web design and web development in 1997 and 10 years ago stumbled upon Drupal as a platform that I could use to teach my undergrad and graduate students the power of building websites on CMS platforms. I turned that experience into a career -- focusing 100% on Drupal. I've worked with hundreds of organizations in the public and private sector, building large scale Drupal sites. I've also turned my Drupal knowledge into 6 books - Beginning Drupal 7, Pro Drupal 7 Development, Beginning Drupal 8, Migrating Drupal to Backdrop, Beginning Backdrop CMS, and Enterprise Drupal 8. Drupal in the enterprise is my passion - and my focus. Think big, think Drupal is my motto.
