In 2001 I established myself as a "flash" developer, building a virtual tour for Best Friends animal sanctuary. By 2005, as an established designer of "rich" internet content, I was on the hunt for a flexible backend system that could help prolong the life of my then "static" creations. I was looking for a "Java and XML" based solution, but Drupal was by far the most sophisticated, popular, and widely supported CMS of the time. I quickly adopted it as a flexible content creation and editing toolto feed my front end presentations. It turns out that people wanted websites more than multimedia presentations, so I dove deep into Drupal to provide for my clients' needs. After many adventures building websites, community portals, and custom intranet applications in Drupal (5,6,&7) for small businesses and non-profits, I started looking for a bigger project (and team) that I could get behind. In 2012, the Graduate School of Oregon State University hired me on to rebuild their web presence from scratch, developing custom "features" for the OSU Drupal 7 distribution. I'm always interested in discussing the future of "immersive" web experiences, using standards based, open source, and extensible tools.
