As a website administrator I have some experience in web design but I am better at web app development. I have a lot of experience in ColdFusion and some beginner's experience in both PHP and Drupal. I also provide user support to department-level web masters and provide users basic training in using the NMNH Dreamweaver Templates and the Interwoven TeamSite/OpenDeploy web content management system. I also generate basic monthly web statistical reports.

Before becoming a website administrator, I have earned a bachelor’s degree in history and anthropology (1984) and a master’s degree in museum studies with specializations in anthropology and collections management (1989), both from George Washington University. Prior to coming to Smithsonian Institution, I have worked as a docent at the Capital Children’s Museum and a collections manager at the B'nai B'rith Klutznick Museum. My career path at the Smithsonian Institution has also included unpacking textiles at the African Art Museum, moving collections of the American History and Natural History Museums to the Museum Support Center, and inventorying Natural History collections such as fossil insects in amber and pressed plant sheets.
