Bio:

Joel brings 15 years of experience in social networking, community building, account and project management, and political campaign consulting and fundraising. He has provided strategic counsel to non-profits, political candidates, and issue campaigns on building and implementing online communications plans, social networks, and websites.

He joined Capellic as a partner in 2012. Before joining Capellic, Joel was the Social Networking Manager at Common Knowledge. In this capacity he oversaw all technical projects at Common Knowledge and was the lead consultant on all social media related projects. He has worked with dozens of large and medium nonprofits including Operation Smile, the National 4-H Council, Habitat for Humanity, ASPCA, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and many others.

Prior to Common Knowledge, Joel ran his own internet consulting business (Momentum Communications), served as the Online Communications Director for the Westly for Governor (California) campaign, Deputy Chief Information Officer for the State of California, and Deputy Director of Operations for Governor Gray Davis Committee.

When Joel isn't working, he's running, or at least thinking about running…or he’s chasing down his 3-year old daughter and wrangling his 5 month old son. He generally prefers being outside than in. His favorite trip of all time was a four day hike on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Joel graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Government.
