SimpleAds

These are the instructions to install and configure the SimpleAds module.

Please note, that simpleads 7.x-2.x currently requires the following non-core modules:

Translation redirect

The Translation redirect module, part of the Internationalization (i18n) package, improves search engine optimization (SEO) for multilingual websites. By default, multilingual pages can be accessed via different paths by changing the path prefix or domain. Search engines tend to penalize displaying the same content at more than one URL, so it's important to redirect to a single instance of the page.

The Translation redirect module redirects anonymous users (including web crawlers) to the translation of the page in the requested language, if it exists, using a 301 redirect code. For example, if the request is for /de/node/23 and node/23 corresponds to an English page, the user will be redirected to the German translation of the English node if it exists. If the translation does not exist, then the source node content is displayed.

Note that, by design, translation redirection does not work for the homepage or for authenticated users.

Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of increasing your web sites visibility to search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing. If search engines know exactly what's available on your site, then when people search for something your site contains, you'll end up on the list of results. The higher a site appears on the list of results, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine.

There are a lot of things you can do to help your site's search ranking. The higher a site appears in the list of search results, the more relevant that site should be to a person's search, or the site should be of higher quality. Your goal should be to make your site the best, and then use some Drupal modules to let the search engines know what's available there for your visitors.

This section of the handbook will include installation and configuration instructions for many of the Drupal modules which will help your site's rankings.
