Node Export usage

Node Export Usage

Please see the Node Export settings page at admin/config/content/node_export.

There are several methods to import and export nodes.

Adding other view formats to Views Pdf pages

Since Views PDF uses its own display type with its own formats other formats that are usually available in block or page views cannot be used. This includes grid views or formats provided by other modules like the Views Matrix Module.

Node export

What is the Node Export?

Node export allows users to export nodes and then import it into another Drupal installation, or on the same site.

Using this module, you can save yourself a lot of time setting up new websites that have similar nodes to websites you've already made, migrating nodes to new Drupal versions, or between development/staging/production sites.

Requirements

You will need the same content types for the imports to work (unless using Feeds to import), and ideally relevant compatibility with fields, and modules.

Node Export + Features Integration

Node Export provides integration with the Feature module. You can export a bundle of nodes and store them in a feature, which can then be installed on another site.

This is a simple way to stage content between two development environments. Another use case is giving your site to a client to have them input content, then moving that content back into your development environment.

Known Issues

Warning: If your site has a lot of content, the node_export_feature list under features could become quite large and break. To resolve this problem, please visit this issue for a work around:
#1626360: Features UI becomes unusable with large number of nodes

About NodePorter

The NodePorter Exporter and NodePorter Importer modules work hand-in-hand to export nodes to an XML description or import nodes from an XML description.

These modules can be used to programatically import content from other systems and data sources or export content and import it into other Drupal sites.

NodePorter uses the FieldTool module in Drupal 6 to export CCK types.

Exporting items

Export links are provided for each file format (admin/config/content/biblio/iomap).
Also, there is an Export sub-menu with a POT (portable object template) Export option.

The links to each export type can be toggled on or off by going to the admin/settings/biblio page and opening the "Links" section. Additionally, on the "admin/users/permissions" page, there is a permission call "show export links" in the biblio section which turns on or off all the export links for any given role.
