Hosting support

Any recommendations for a host that allows JAVA and SOLR installs? My ultimate goal is to provide a fast search for a classified ads site. So there may be (hopefully) large amounts of data to sort through.

My current web hosting service has felt a bit sluggish at least occasionally and I thought that maybe I could run some tests on it.

So I went and did few test using Apache Benchmark. To my surprise the final result was only 5 requests per second (even free amazon micro instance can do 500).

Setup consists of three Drupal 7 sites(multi-site) on same shared host which has main domain and two parked domains serving sites. It is a basic LAMP stack.

Which affordable shared hosting is best for Drupal.

I have opened a thread previous asking whether to choose Drupal or WordPress to build my website. Although there so many people suggest me to use WordPress, I still insist in Drupal as I like its flexibility and advanced functions. Now, I move to another difficulty of the selection of Drupal hosting. I don't need any recommendations for I want to do it myself. So, I want to know that what are the basic requirements and criteria of the truly great hosting for Drupal. Please note that I just need shared hosting.
