Hosting support

My Drupal website runs OK with a couple of problems.

I keep getting an error message at the bottom of every page when I am logged in "Unable to connect to MySQL".

In general this message is only a minor annoyance, except that I have noticed now that I can't save permissions changes any more.

A little history of the website:

The website was developed on Godaddy linux hosting. It was then moved to internal hosting for my organization with IIS, now I am running Windows server 2012 with IIS. About 6 months ago I was hacked by MECA.

Any Drupal experienced web designers willing to take on some of my clients? Would prefer Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire based if possible.

As a freelance web designer I have made the decision to stop trading early next year and have given my remaining clients notice that they will have to find another Drupal experienced web host/designer willing to take on their website (if this is what they want) when their current hosting expires. Domain names will need transferring to another registrar too.

Anyone here hosts their site on the Google cloud? If yes, how much do you pay on average for a Drupal 7 site?

Has anyone hosted with interserver.net ? They are listed on this page for VPS providers https://www.drupal.org/hosting/vps . There price is great, but that scares me a little. I’m essentially looking for a great price for hosting with a dedicated IP.

As per April 2015 arvixe is using php version 5.3.28 and they deny to upgrade even with well documented vulnerability that allow remote attackers to obtain sensitive information from php-cgi process memory by leveraging the ability to upload a .php file or (2) trigger unexpected code execution if a valid PHP script is present in memory locations adjacent to the mapping.
