I tried upgrading to 6.0 and everything went down hill. So, I restored the old site from the backup I downloaded. Now, a strange thing is happening. When I log in I can see the full front page, etc. from the original site, but when I log out I get the front page of the 6.0 attempt.
I assume this would be something in the database. Since I'm not a computer literate, would appreciate a suggestion on how to correct this.
Posted the following in case others stumble on the same issue...
Symptom:
After upgrading to Drupal 6 the fancy new drag-n-drop menu editing screens worked for most of my menus but not the sites several hundred link content menu. Trying to edit this caused long delays or a WSOD (White Screen Of Death).
Error log:
The servers error log had entries for "undefined function xslt_create()"
Im trying to upgrade to 6 from Drupal 5.X, as always and I follow the manual, but when the script update.php starts to work, it always get stuck (I tried twice, restoring a backup and trying again with no luck.) at 37 of 58 (36%)
I dont get any error. I leave working for 20 minutes and nothing, any hints where to start looking?
I'm thinking about trying to upgrade from 4.x to 6.x - when I do this will everything work the same as before (i.e. will my current theme and such work fine) or does that need to be updated too?
