How to set dimensions on a region

Bootstrap 3.0 cdn
I can not find a step-by-step guide describing how to stylize regions.
I have added more regions (in bootstrap.info.yml and templates / system / page.html.twig).
Can see them in both admin / structure as well as in admin / structure / demonstrate block regions.
Does anyone know where there is a step by step guide in how to style them (sets width, height, location).

Migrating video and photo site using csv

Hello

I am a total drupal newbie.

I have decided to embrace drupal 8.5.5 on ubuntu for my future video and photo website / blog solution. Currently, I have a php / Html site that uses Filemaker server as its CMS (because it was a simple solution to get a csm running as I am not a web dev). that looks remarkably like a blogsite from around 2002.

Menu points to node/nid on frontpage only

On my site, the Main navigation menu, when on the frontpage, does not use path aliases, but points at node/nid instead.

On other pages (created from either nodes or views,) the same menu uses aliases.

Is this behaviour to be expected? How can I change it - I want aliases everywhere :)

Thank You in advance

Peter

PS: this is with a bootstrap 3 based sub-theme, in case that matters. The site also does not localization

How to read contents of an uploaded file

Hi folk. I'm new to Drupal, and am trying to write a file upload form, so I can get the file contents into another database.

I wrote a module called FileUpload, that consists of a FileUploadForm. I used a managed_file field in the form, and called it "file". Now I'm trying to read the file contents, and display them via drupal_set_message, but I don't know enough about the file api, and documentation is somewhat scant.

Here's what I have so far:
