is there a way to turn off pages from recent posts?

anyone know why this is. i often have to put my login info in twic eto get it to work

Hi everyone!

I've just installed Drupal on my site, and I have a question about it. When I create a blog entry, it shows up on the main page. Is there a way to prevent the blog from showing up on the main page? A sidebar link showing the recent blogs will be sufficient. I just don't want my Drupal home page to be overwhelmed with user's blogs. I've gone thru the settings and didn't find anything, but its probably just something I've overlooked.

I need to be able to upload like 6 images at a time that appear as a small gallery in a node. Just wanted to make sure it hasnt been done yet or if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks.
