I am an experienced PHP programmer and I know SQL. But I am a complete noob when it comes to Drupal. I have spent an hour or two browsing the getting started documents.
What me and a few friends are planning to do is this: (we know what we are getting in to and plan to spend years on this)
Looking for a good theme to start development in, something a little more bare-bones. I've used Zen but I'm not completely sold on the abundance of classes/id's that it adds. Does anyone have any recommendations, or any comments on of the following that were suggested to me?
hello, i have a fresh install of d7 and the comment module enable. when trying to post a comment, the subject field only allows 64 characters. how can we increase this character limit? thanks!
i developed with drupal in its very early versions. Now im starting again, being a bit cut down by the huge dimension drupal reached. Congratulations on that by the way.
I now want to create a website which is pretty dependant on where you are on the page.
You have 4 Major parts on that site.
A header, containing a image bar, whose image will be different on ANY "node"
A sidebar ( left ) menu which is static and leads through the major part of the site.
First off: I'm faily new to Drupal, but i do know a fair bit about coding in php.
I'm making a website for a yearly LAN-party using Drupal and have run into a problem.
Beyond the users signing up on the site itself i need to make some kind of form where the users can sign up for the LAN-party itself.
When i started looking around for a module that might do this for me i stumbled across the Webform module.
I thought Cool, this is easy to use and i can create the signup without having to write a single line of code myself.
Soon after i was a bit disappointed, as i found out that it would not be as simple to show the submissions again. I know that the Webform module itself can show all the results, but i don't want all users on the site to be able to see the IP-adresses and such that the Webform module always shows.
Also the webform module can't pull values from the new fields module in D7, so i can't use new user-fields that i have made (eg. a users birthday or such) for pre-filling the webform.
So my question is:
Should i even be trying to achieve this using the webform module?
