I'm new to the community, and wasn't sure where to turn for help, so apologies if this isn't the correct place (please point me in the right direction).

I'm evaluating Drupal 7 to do a web project, and i can't see in the documentation how to do theese things:
1. Is it possible to attach files to nodes or content types?
2. Another question, if it is possible add to a variable number of child nodes to a node. The child node can be a node type with fields: title, file, etc
