Release notes

This is a functionally equal backport of version 7.x-1.0-beta2 and is not yet widely tested, but I encourage everybody to do so. Although users won't notice any substantial differences with the Drupal 7 equivalent there are technical differences that technical readers might be interested in:

  • Its required to run on Pressflow due its support for Varnish caching.
  • The statistics checks are slightly different, mainly checking page_cache_max_age, Pressflow and anonymous caching in "external mode".
  • Progressbar looks slightly different because of Garland.
  • The rule action only supports one path, that's a rules datatype limitation.
  • Drupal 6 has no Queue API, therefore the module ships with its own ap_queue table. Acquia Purge's API has not changed and all interactions with it work exactly the same, database performance might differ though.
  • Drupal 6 doesn't support sites.php, and so wont Acquia Purge. Multi-site users will depend on the Domain Access work around for their domains, as outlined in DOMAINS.txt.
  • This ships with a one-line CSS file as inline CSS is not supported.
  • The manual purge form has no "add more" or AJAX support.

Non of the above mentioned differences should cause any issues and I highly recommend converting to this port and testing it.
