Experimental project

This is a sandbox project, which contains experimental code for developer use only.

StarterBase is a base theme that includes Uikit3 (https://getuikit.com) in drupal. It's a great starting point and toolbox for any modern and fast website.

This theme however adds some interesting enhancements:

  • improved tabbing for visually impared people
  • alternative responsive classes (replaced '@' by '--' in uikit3 class names)
  • more default theme regions
  • additional helper classes
  • lightweight (no custom theme settings included)
  • compatible with drupal9

About responsive classes: By default the '@' sign gets filtered out by the drupal UI. But you can now also use the alternative responsive classes like 'uk-width-1-2--m' in stead of 'uk-width-1-2@m' in your theme.

NB: StarterBase also includes a STARTERKIT subtheme. Simply rename:

  • directory: starterkit_REMOVE to starterkit
  • file: starterkit.info.yml_REMOVE to starterkit.info.yml

Then clear the cache and enable the starterkit subtheme.
