Co-create Content

Engage your audience by letting them contribute to the content of your site.

Suggest is a module that allows a visitor (anonymous user) to send a contribution to an already published node.

Site editors are able to see the contributions on the individual node. They can see a diff between the original content and the submitted suggestion. The diff is made against the version of the content that the visitor modified.

Site editors can then choose which parts of the suggestions to implement.

Use cases

  • A visitor notices a typo in an article. They want to help and correct the error.
  • A visitor reads an article that they want to improve since they feel it is not complete.
  • A visitor has additional information about a topic in an article. Asking for contributions in the article allows for a new way of getting news tips that might need verification before they are published. It might become a part of the original article or become a new article.
  • Set an article headline and crowdsource the content by asking the visitors to contribute to the topic.

  • Make it easier to accept changes without the need to copy-paste
  • Add support for logged in users
  • UI for choosing fields to be suggestable
  • Mark a contribution as processed/reviewed
  • An overview of all contributions (exposing them to Views)
  • Automated e-mails to editors when a new contribution is sent (Rules integration)

Similar modules

This module differentiates itself from these modules since it does not require a change in the editorial workflow (standard Drupal). It will also let’s the site maintainer choose which fields the visitor should be able to edit. We plan to make it configurable to choose to strip certain parts of the content that is used when a visitor makes a suggestion.
