Experimental project

This is a sandbox project, which contains experimental code for developer use only.

Colour per node allows editors to tweak colours of elements on node pages such as titles, backgrounds and borders. Useful when creating node based microsites and themed books where you can't assume the content editor has knowledge of CSS or HTML.

How does it work?

  • CSS selectors and property types are assigned to each content type by the site administrator using the content type edit form. Individual colour options can be turned on or off on teasers.
  • When creating a new node or editing an existing node, colour options appear on the node form and colours can be chosen using the core colour picker.
  • When a node page or teaser is generated, CSS rules are automatically generated by Drupal and placed in the header of the page.

Why is it useful?

Sometimes clients want to be able to create microsites or books using nodes that have a slightly different feel or branding then the rest of the site. Whether it's changing the background colour, button colours, header colours or border colours - site editors can use this module without having knowledge of CSS or web development.
