What Is Auto Meta Tags?

This module allow's you to select content types that will automatically generate meta tag descriptions. The module first checks to see if the node has a summary assigned to the node and if so, uses the first 160 characters from it to create the meta tag description. If there is no summary defined, then the module will use the first 160 characters from the body of the node instead.

This module also provides the ability to specify the home page meta tag description and meta tag keywords. In a future release, the ability to select content types with auto generating keywords will be available.

Installing Auto Meta Tags:

1. Copy the autometatags directory into sites/all/modules
2. Navigate to admin/modules and Enable Auto Meta Tags.
3. Navigate to admin/people/permissions and assign the Administer Auto Meta Tags permission.
This is required to setup or modify the settings of the Auto Meta Tags module.

How to configure Auto Meta Tags:

1. Navigate to admin/config/search/autometatags
2. Enter the home page meta description.
3. Enter the home page meta keywords.
4. Select what content types to auto generate meta tag descriptions for.
