Unable to ignore entity type in building sitemap

Hi,

I have a site with an entity that is never publicly displayed. It also has a lot of entries (over a million). I would like xmlsitemap to ignore this entity.

I already tried going into entity settings and marking this entity as excluded. I also tried deselecting this entity from the rebuild tab.

xmlsitemap still goes through these entries. I would be included to let it run through once and forget about it. However, the table for the entities are regenerated regularly and I am concerned that will cause it rebuild the entries each time.
