The link "get your embed code here" sends to page "http://www.wordstream.com/seo-free-trial" instead of page "http://www.wordstream.com/widget-generator". There is no way to get the id required.
I think something is changing in wordstream site. I don't know if this could be considered a bug but this is a problem for sure.
Does anyone know what's going on and how to solve this issue?

Thank you!

Hello there,

This is Will from WordStream. We just made some changes to the way some of our free tools work, and this likely disrupted this widget. Sorry! However, we still have a public API which provides a certain amount of free access, and I'm pretty sure you could update your widget to leverage it (http://www.wordstream.com/keyword-tool-api-new). I'd be happy to discuss with the person or people who work on this plug-in - just let me know how I can get in touch.

Updating this to critical. Due to updates at Wordstream this module is no longer functional for new installs because the embed code is no longer available.

This is the email I received from Will:

Thanks for reaching out. Last time I checked, the community-created WordStream Drupal integration was in need of updating and not functional. I’d like to talk with the people who work on it.

In terms of non-integrated solutions, we offer the Keyword Research Suite for SEO and PPC keyword research activity. Some free searches are included – just check here:

An update on this issue. The other day I spoke with Tom, the person who created this component, and discussed this problem. Basically, this components takes advantage of two things from WordStream: our API and our embedded JS functionality. The API part should still work in conjunction with the Keyword Research Tools that Tom also created. The embedded JS functionality is no longer supported by WordStream at this time and should probably be removed from this component. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me - my address is in my comment above.

Thanks,
Will

So essentially.. Am I to understand this module is now worthless? That would have been good to know before I installed.

tpainton,

No the module is not worthless. There were two separate methods for doing keyword research before, the server side API and a JavaScript embed. WordStream no longer offers the JavaScript embeds but still offers the server side API.

That was the more important one anyway as it allows us to bring actually keyword data into Drupal.

Does it mean the game is over?

WordStream Keyword API For Drupal
WordStream has enjoyed supporting the Drupal community, but as of September 2012, we are no longer accepting new registrations for our free keyword API.

We direct you to the other available Drupal module plug-ins for your keyword research needs: http://drupal.org/project/kwresearch

Existing free API users will be supported through February 2013.

Thanks again, everyone!

Is there any alternatives?

Closing this issue because the module is currently in the process of being deprecated, and is no longer actively maintained. WordStream also no longer offers free API keys.
