OK2018 commentedHi, I am just trying to subscribe to the right drupal mailing list in order ta receive security alerts. Have updated my profile and checked the box as indicated on the left hand (blue) side of this page [https://www.drupal.org/security]. Let me know how else to get the security alerts via email. Regards.

avpadernoSubscribing to the mail list doesn't require a confirmed role, which eventually change what you can post on drupal.org, and how frequently.
It is still not clear how you are subscribing. A screenshot would help, because I don't see blocks to the left on https://www.drupal.org/security.

gislekiamlaluno,
there is a gray block on the right hand side of https://www.drupal.org/security with the following text:
I assume the OP has followed this instruction, and should now be subscribed to security alerts mailing list.
To OK2018:
Do you have a reason to believe you are not subscribed?
Please note that these security mails are at most sent once a week (on Wednesdays).
If you was subscribed on June the 6, and did not receive a mail, check your spambox. Search for the string "[Security-news]" in the heading.

avpadernoYes, gisle is correct. In your case, that block is telling you to subscribe from https://www.drupal.org/user/3576459/edit/newsletter.
