Not too sure where to file this..

But with ideas like this likely becoming a reality someday, I'd like to see some tweaks to the project creation process (either distro, profile, module or theme).

  • Require at least a 300 character description
  • If the git repo has no code in it, filter out from any searches automatically
  • Add flag(s) on the project page to flag a project for review (less than one year old) if it is a duplicate, empty/no code, or a stub that never became anything

I have seen a lot of projects created this year that either have one or all of the above points.

If we want to showcase that Drupal can be extended and has a ton of added functionality, then I can imagine how puzzling it must be for newcomers to come to the site and see project pages like that. I also occasionally see things like "Test Module" or people just creating project pages to 'try' it out. That is fine on a place like GitHub, but on Drupal.org a project page is special. Hence, if the project has no code committed to it, it would be great to filter it out from users until it does.

This is a feature request that would require writing custom code, even in the shape of features.
