I have Webform 8x-5.0-rc1 installed and this morning I tried installing rc2. During the installation process, I am shown the following unresolved dependency errors.

UNRESOLVED DEPENDENCY
contribute (Missing)
Webform requires this module.

UNRESOLVED DEPENDENCY
contribute (Missing)
Webform Examples requires this module.

UNRESOLVED DEPENDENCY
contribute (Missing)
Webform Node requires this module.

UNRESOLVED DEPENDENCY
contribute (Missing)
Webform Templates requires this module.

UNRESOLVED DEPENDENCY
contribute (Missing)
Webform UI requires this module.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do at this point. Any suggestions are appreciated.

@swm4 You just need to download and enable the Contribute module and the dependency will be resolved.

I've got this error now when trying to update, but I've also got the WSOD, so how to I extricate myself from this situation?

I was able to proceed with the update by downloading the "contribute" module .gz file, extracting the files, which created a "contribute" folder, and then moving that into the "modules" folder. Miraculously, that worked, but it's terrifying to see the WSOD in situations like this.

If this is a new dependency, shouldn't it be mentioned in release notes? I didn't see it there.

It is noted in the release notes as a change record. To make it stand out more, I moved it to the top of the list and changed it to bold.
