WebFM Custom Layout Doesn't Work with OG User Roles

I'm attempting to get a custom webfm layout (https://www.drupal.org/node/736548) on a node that respects roles assigned by OG User Roles for that particular group. WebFM recognizes the correct roles set by OG User Roles in some areas, but not others. For example, when a user has a role to 'administer webfm' in that particular group, the webfm_custom_layout function views them as having the administer role, but the webfm_ajax function does not. This breaks the webfm interface and builds the path to the directory incorrectly. Can anyone suggest any sort of workaround? I can't seem to figure anything out.
