The Views Slideshow: Swiper module bridges Views Slideshow and the external
library, Swiper, so that the touch slider is available as a slideshow type.
Swiper is a "modern mobile touch slider with hardware accelerated transitions"
that is "intended to be used in mobile websites, mobile web apps, and mobile
native/hybrid apps."

It works on iOS, "the latest Android, Windows Phone 8 and modern Desktop browsers"
with the following highlighted features:

  • Ability to customize pagination, navigation buttons, and create parallax effects.
  • Native 100% RTL support with correct layout.
  • Modern parallax transitions that can be used on any element inside of Swiper.
  • Automatically re-initilise/calculate parameters due to DOM or Swiper changes.
  • Optional image lazy loading.

The latest v4.x Swiper functionality including column config for mobile breakpoints and other advanced functionality, upgrade to 7.x-4.0
and then make sure to also upgrade your Swiper library to v4.4.2

QUICK INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. download the module as you normally would and put it where you expect it to work (for example in sites/all/modules/contrib )
  2. download and extract the Swiper library from here: https://github.com/nolimits4web/swiper/archive/v4.4.2.tar.gz
  3. put it in your libraries folder (ex: sites/all/libraries ) and rename the extracted v4.4.2 folder to Swiper , capital S, this is Case Sensitive Swiper.

v4.4.2 has been tested extensively and it works well.
