I have a CCK content type specifically for VNS with a Link field to 'Allow the user to choose' the Link Target setting. This sets the URL target attribute to "target=_blank" when the user chooses to 'Open URL in a New Window'. This works well when a view's row style is set to Fields. When the row style is set to VNS, the target attribute is lost.
I tested the dev version, which does not address the issue. I believe there are a couple of similar requests, http://drupal.org/node/999794, and http://drupal.org/node/1206362. Happy to help any way I can.
