"Hide if empty" view setting is not honored

.I tried to set some fields to "Hide if empty", but this setting isn't honored (instead, only field labels are displayed). I tried to do the same in other views displays and it seems to work just fine.

Based on my experience I propose workaround - on export check each column and if it has value only in the first row, remove the column.

I'm using latest DEV version of Views Excel Export.
