Admin interface broken after update

Hello!
After upgrading from Drupal 7.14 to 7.16 and views 3.3 to 3.5 my ViewsUI is totally broken (screenshot attached).
I checked:
- It is still broken when switching to garland, so there could not be an interference with my theme. seven is the admin theme.
- views.css is imported in the head
- permissions the css directory are ok
- activating/ deactivating jquery update module has no effect
- ctools is 7.x-1.2, actual version

I have no idea what the reason could be. Any suggestions?
