Won't install on a brand new test site.

Here is the message I get when I install the module on a brand new core install:

FieldException: Attempt to create a field of unknown type entityreference. in field_create_field() (line 110 of C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Acquia_test_site\drupal-7.43\modules\field\field.crud.inc).

Two tables are created in the data base: "user_badge" and "user_badges_assignment"

There is no item added to the administrator's menu that enables access to the UI. Going to admin/config/people/badges does not permit to access the UI.
