Visual badge selector [#1787330]

Would like to be able to show users a list of all of the badges that are available to them without them needing advanced knowledge of the names in order to type something that matches into the autocomplete. In combination with #1787326: Would like to group badges and only let users pick one from each group this could be used to show each group of badges in the "Add Badge" screen instead of the 5 autocomplete boxes (but that could come later if that ever got implemented).

Yes, I have never been a fan of the autocomplete, but I have never had a site with more than a few types of badges. There are some who have hundreds of badges, and perhaps autocomplete makes more sense in that environment. I don't know if grouping would help those people or not.

Perhaps you could try it out yourself. Change the form to a select list. There are, what, 100 merit badges available to your scouts? Do this on your test site (you do have one, don't you?) and then have a few scouts try it out and see which way they like better.
