url_rewriter 1.0.0-alpha1

Initial release of URL Rewriter.

This module rewrites URLs stored directly in the Drupal database, including menu links, entity link fields, rich-text body content, file base URLs, and Redirect module destinations.

Replacement rules can be created from the admin UI at **Configuration → Development → URL Rewriter**. Each rule includes a preview step so you can review the expected changes before the actual database updates are processed through Drupal's Batch API.

The initial release also includes:

* Audit logging with an aggregate count per rule and configurable sampled rows for additional context.
* Drush commands for CI/CD and deployment workflows.
* Support for Drupal 10.4+ and Drupal 11.
* PHP 8.3+ requirement.

This release is currently **Alpha** because the configuration schema may evolve based on early community feedback and usage.

We recommend trying the module in a lower environment first before using it on any environment where changes are difficult to reverse.

Known limitations

• No revert or undo functionality yet. Take a database backup or snapshot before running a replacement where restoring the database may be difficult.
• URL matching currently supports plain-text strings only.
