Hi jthorson!
I discovered your module yesterday and i sent you an email about it but i think you didn't see it so i am opening this issue :)
I am helping Alun the maintainer of Leaguesite module and i saw you opened a discussion about ULT and Leaguesite so i would like to know if you are interested to discuss about it.
I tested your module and it seems you made a very good work (^_^)
But it seems it lacks some functions which are in Leaguesite module so i think a colloboration will be the best no ?

MasterChief CreditAttribution: MasterChief commentedI appreciate the fact that you thought this module to manage an event online.
I installed your module yesterday and activated all module except ULT sheduling and ULT FIelds, and i have some problems if i compare with the demo site:
- Don't see divisions in a league
- No tabs on a division page
Is it because i didn't activate these 2 modules or it's problem because i am using Views 3 and something goes wrong at the installation ?
I think your module is really promising and i wish i could help you, i have a lot of ideas, let me know if you are interested (^_^)

jthorson CreditAttribution: jthorson commentedThanks for the note ... I had contacted Alun last fall, and suggested that our modules would complement each other very well, once I finally got ULT onto official project status. With this in mind, I intentionally stayed away from creating any 'new' features that were already in LeagueSite (or that Alun was currently working on), other than those required by my sponsor.
There are still a couple of fundamental differences between the two modules, the largest being that ULT uses actual site users to build the team rosters.
I've got a couple more components I need to finish off fairly quick for the 2011 Spring season (League registration goes live on a couple of Ultimate club sites today); but would be happy to discuss future plans and potential LeagueSite integration once that is complete.
In the meantime, I'd suggest joining the 'Sports Club (League) Management' group on groups.drupal.org ... I tried to create a group specifically to discuss ULT & Leaguesite earlier this year, but it was denied - so I've been setting up camp in the existing (and otherwise empty?) group.
Also, feel free to play around with the demo site at ultdemo.thorsonsolutions.com ... though the demo site isn't up to date with the latest bug fixes, a number of which were committed last night.
Your division issue is probably due to Views ... I built the module to use Views 2, and haven't looked at Views 3 integration.
The missing tabs on a division page could be a number of different things ... it may be permissions, or missing fields in the content type (which I have found are auto-created nicely on fresh installs, but do not always work when activating the module on an existing site). Also, the tabs generally exist only on a 'ult/division/%nid' page, and will not show up on a '/node/%nid' page.

MasterChief CreditAttribution: MasterChief commented- It's the main advantage of ULT, i know Alun would like make an uid integration.
- Since my beginning on drupal, i saw that drupal groups are not active so is it the best to share ideas ? i don't know maybe another solution ?
- Ok i hope you will make your module compatible with views 3 if it's the real problem, maybe just screenshots of league view configuration will help to use the module or to fix the problem! (and make appear division!)
- I understand why tabs doesn't appear in division, i desactivated the module pathauto because i saw that the url wasn't right and it fixed the problem, but i don't think it's the best solution :)
PS :
I saw your answer, what is your favorite drupal irc channel ?

jthorson CreditAttribution: jthorson commentedLook for 'jert' in the #drupal channel ... I should be lurking around most of the day; though I may be afk.
MasterChief CreditAttribution: MasterChief commentedI am connecting on the channel :)
MasterChief CreditAttribution: MasterChief commentedI tested the module on a fresh install and divisions appear!
I am using all the same modules and views 3, very strange behavior.
I am on #drupal channel if you want more details.
MasterChief CreditAttribution: MasterChief commentedI uninstall all ULT modules and reinstall just ULT core - registration and divisions like my test and it doesn't work, it's crazy.
I am checking the views but it's seems to be the same.
MasterChief CreditAttribution: MasterChief commentedI found the solution, it's not a problem with views.
So the problem is fixed for me.
MasterChief CreditAttribution: MasterChief commentedAlun doesn't seem to come on drupal.org :(
I hope he will come soon to know what he thinks.
PS:
Is it possible to chat with you when you will have some time ? (it will be not very long)

MasterChief CreditAttribution: MasterChief commentedI saw you applied for ULT becomes an official module, thank you again for all your work on ULT.
Sadly Alun doesn't come yet.
Could have i a talk with you today with you or another time on drupal channel when you will be available ?

MasterChief CreditAttribution: MasterChief commentedOk i will try to be there but it will be pretty late in my country :)
jthorson CreditAttribution: jthorson commentedMy intention is to start work on a D7 port of ULT within the next month or so.
With the leaguesite maintainer stating that he would not be working on a port this year, if I have not heard from the LeagueSite maintainer by then, I will consider including LeagueSite functionality in my D7 version.

MasterChief CreditAttribution: MasterChief commentedNice!
I am testing drupal 7 since yesterday to see the differences and see what are the modules ready :)

Eng.HamadaEid CreditAttribution: Eng.HamadaEid commentedHi Dears;
can you help me by some documentation of this module to allow me better using it since I'm new in drupal
Comment #19
jthorson CreditAttribution: jthorson commentedEng,
It may be quicker if you tell me what you would like to do with the module, and I can tell you if it is possible ... and *then* I can document 'how' to do it.
I know there is very little documentation for the module; but to document everything would probably take me months ...and I'm sure you'd prefer something to get you started sooner. :)
