returning two quotes when only one is assigned?

hi,

i have four different classes of products, each with a quote method assigned to them. when i test my shopping cart and ask for a shipping quote, i get the assigned quote, and another one for $0.00. i need the $0.00 quote to go away. i don't have any stray quote methods for $0.00 lying around that i can delete, i've tried deleting the module itself and reuploading it, and deactivating and reactivating it. the plain flat rate module isn't activated, either.
