TCPDF 7 support. TCPDF 6, used by the 2.x releases, has reached end of life and receives no security fixes anymore (TCPDF#867). TCPDF 7 keeps the TCPDF API but renders with tc-lib-pdf, and it needs font files that sites have to build themselves.
