taxonomy_list.module is for displaying the terms (and optionally nodes) under categories with an image (Taxonomy Image module required) and description. User can select the number of terms to display in each row, and assign the HTML attributes to the display cell, image, and the description text.
To browse the terms under a vocabulary, simple request the URL http://yoursite.com/taxonomy/vocabulary/<vid>[+<vid>]
http://example.com/taxonomy/vocabulary/1 << to show all terms under vocabulary id #1
http://example.com/taxonomy/vocabulary/2+1 << to show all terms under vocabulary id #2 and then follow by terms under vocabulary id #1. See the full documentation link below.
This is a nearly complete rewrite that adds a list and directory view to the legacy table view. Additionally, you will be able to create your own display template for theming the taxonomy list any way you want. Currently there is only a -dev version available and it is not suggested for production sites. However, your help in testing it will speed up its availability.
I am working on the documentation and will publish it when it's more complete.
I run the translation extractor when I update the module, so if someone wants to provide translations, the template is available. Please open a feature request and attach the translation (.po) file.
If you use this module and think your site is worthy of being a showcase for it, let me know. Please open a task request and let me know your URL and maybe a brief description.

Development version status
The development versions (-dev, which rolls up at Noon and Midnight GMT) are where the newest stuff is, including any bug fixes and new features. We try to make sure it is tested before we commit anything, but occasionally a bug will get by us. Your help on testing this code is greatly appreciated. The translation templates may not always be up-to-date in the dev releases.
Current Features being tested in Development
- Settings form improvements.
- Make taxonomy image a link.
- Make term description an option.
