i started to work on tac_lite for Drupal 8. The current version is compatible alpha11 and not HEAD. I post an update soon. My dev sandbox is on github. https://github.com/webflo/tac_lite

Just a quick note of encouragement on this. Since the original Taxonomy Access Control module itself is no longer maintained and never quite made it to a stable D7 release, I am hopeful that TAC Lite will eventually be ported in some way to D8 and I am happy to see that there is some movement on the project in Github.

Just wondering how this is coming along..? I just gave it a go on D8 beta 10, and doesn't seem to work.. :(

There's another repo, partially based on @webflo's work: https://github.com/boobaa/tac_lite with some migrations and tests. Current D8 stable releases lack both.
