Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
Right now the 7.x-2.0-beta5 and the 7.x-2.0-rc1 git tag point to the same commit (hash a0771b2).
Because you can't check out more than one tag at a time, and because of their order in the commit tree, when you check out the rc1 tag git defaults to the beta5 tag, which the git deploy module then puts in the .info, which makes Drush and the Drupal update system alert you that Strongarm is out of date.
This should be an easy fix -- making an empty-ish commit and add the rc1 tag to it should fix things up.
