Core's Node module dynamically creates menu items to allow direct access to the create forms for specific content types. Storage Entities should do the same, so that from the menu someone can get directly to the form to a specific storage type.

Based on the Admin Toolbar discussion in #3028213: generalize creation of 'add ENTITY' and 'add BUNDLE' links it sounds like this is something that might need to be fixed in that module instead of here.

I came here to make the same feature request. :)

The latest patch in the issue mandclu linked earlier leads to a white screen due to it's interaction with the latest feeds beta, but it may work for some. I left more detailed feedback there.

There's a related patch for D10 core that's been in the works for a while too.
