Using 7.x-2.0-rc1 acutally...can someone point me to a css or other setting which would allow me to make the banner and flexslider less tall than it is? I don't think there is a control point for this in the admin UI.

Found the solution to this in the flexslider project issue queue.

Create a new Image style (Config > Media > Image styles) and set it to Scale and Crop to 250px high x 1140px wide.

Then in View settings (Structure > Views - edit relevant View, Flexslider Slideshow), edit the image field to use the image style we just created.
