Right now, we have really great image + caption filtering for Aloha, but no way to put an image into a post. Aloha has a basic thing that just lets you paste in an image URL + alt tag and get an image in there. In the future, we probably want to think about integrating with something like Insert or Media module, but Aloha's default behaviour will be good enough for demo.
Work on this issue will occur in the Edit module issue queue, with this issue to act as a list of sub-issues.

Wim LeersI should also look into #1722672: Aloha doesn't trigger the smartContentChange event when making formatting changes when tackling this.

webchickWe decided to hold off on this for now in favour of more low-level work, but it's still very high on our priority list to get to ASAP.
Of course, if someone else wants to take a stab in the meantime, by all means. :D

bneil CreditAttribution: bneil commentedDo you still anticipate this initially being done using Aloha's default behavior or instead using a solution like Media? I'm just wondering because I find it's highly requested that "As a content editor, I want to be able to add basic images to my post through the WYSIWYG from a shared library of images."
But maybe that's a separate meta issue?

webchickYay! This is on the docket this sprint.
This will require some upstream work with the Aloha Editor folks to hopefully improve their default tools, so we can layer our UI on top of them.
