New Features

DS-1050 - Digest emails
We have enriched the email notification settings. When you are not logged in on the platform you can choose which activities you’d want to be notified about through email. You can choose whether you’d want to receive these email notifications immediately or combined in a daily or weekly email.

DS-4214 - URL Embed
This feature creates embeds from certain URLs. Known providers are facebook, flickr, instagram, spotify, twitter, vimeo, youtube and ted. URLs from these sites will look nicer in posts and comments.

DS-4262 - Inline feedback in forms
This module is not enabled by default, but it will be as soon as we move Open Social to Drupal core version 8.4. For now, the module can be enabled manually. When this module is enabled the user will receive feedback about mistakes in form directly with the input field instead of a summary above the form. The summary is still there, but includes links to the form elements. Styling is based on the Bootstrap alert component.

DS-3906 - Themed mails when send mails from admin theme
Sending e-mails from the admin theme would lead to not nice looking e-mails. This change makes sure that when sending e-mails, the ‘default’ theme is always used. Not the ‘current’ active theme.

#2888458: Export all users of a group
The social user export module (not enabled by default) now has an extra filter option in the people overview (only accessible for SM+). It’s now possible to filter on members of a certain group. After that you can perform all kinds of bulk operations, such as export them.

#2910585: [PP-1] Disable Restrict images for Basic HTML text format because it does not allow remote images
Problem: The filter Restrict images to this site checks if an image is local by trying to load image dimensions from the local file, if that fails, the image is marked as remote and removed from the markup.

#2890462: Achieving Right Aligned Images with caption in Content
It is now possible to align images with caption texts. Technically images will then be wrapped in a figure tag, which wasn’t supported yet. When you now align images, left, center or right with captions the alignment will work. Also the alignment radio options in the editor image modal window are now themed as inline form elements.

#2917616: Search index Social_users not indexing
When upgrading from Open Social rc8 to 1.0 or above it could happen that user search index was not indexing users anymore. Installs of 1.0 or above do not have this problem.

Other Bugfixes

Absolute URL in notifications
For some notifications the link to the website was broken and just contained the relative path, others used the absolute path already. For all notifications the absolute path is now being used.
