Patch in #1 is working correctly:

  • Mimemail config now shows SMTP mailing engine.
  • Selecting SMTP as the engine for Mime Mail and then sending a HTML email works as expected: the message is both properly formatted and sent via the configured SMTP server. MimeMailSystem was properly set to handle the corresponding module_mailkey.

The patch was applied on smtp-7.x-1.7 and using mimemail-7.x-1.1.

Note that this is D7 only. Mimemail integration works in D8 without this change.
