Release notes
The 3.1.x adds the ability to have events recur hourly or by minutes, for example to use for appointment scheduling. This required some fairly substantial changes under the hood (including a schema change), so treating this as a minor branch. Be sure to run database updates if upgrading from a 3.0.x or earlier release.
Not that because the use of these additional recurrence frequencies is not standard in popular calendar software, they are not enabled by default. To use them, edit your widget configuration. Note that this widget configuration also now makes it possible to restrict the frequency values available, for example if you wanted to have a content type that could only recur weekly.
This particular release adds special formatting for events that recur within a day (hourly or "minutely" / consecutive events) to list a day's worth of event as a single listing, in either the Recurring or Daily range formatters. If you've tried this functionality and have additional thoughts about how these kinds of events should be formatted, please create a child issue of #3176302: Formatter for hourly/minutely recurring dates.
With this release, the new recurring functionality is considered to be functionally complete. Barring new issues, will likely move towards a stable release fairly quickly.
