I think it would improve simplytest.me if non-interactive installation for Drupal 8 was the default, as it is for Drupal 7, so the user doesn't have to select the profile and click "Save and continue", repeat at the database screen, etc.
Perhaps an "Interactive" checkbox could be added on the install screen? If this checkbox is not checked, the installation should race straight through to the "Welcome to drupal 8.4.4" page, just as Drupal 7 does.
Something like this?
I think default settings are fine for non-interactive option, but perhaps "Check for updates automatically" and "Receive email notifications" should be disabled, for improved performance?

webchickHm. I don't love this change (at least without presenting it as an option like suggested in the screenshot), because it means it's no longer possible to test out Umami profile/theme. :(

Greg BoggsLove this, lets do it! Right now, when I have time, my main focus is debugging distro installs, but I'm happy to review and merge this if someone wants to dig in.

rachel_norfolkThis has indeed been changed and options for choosing the install profile added (with one-click umami!)
