Problem:
I told some guys "Your project should have a test/demo facility like Drupal has with Simplytest.me"...
They came back asking so, there's a search field, what do i do there?
I went over to the site and thought
"Right, what a 'Project' is, and that DRUPAL is a project, is already quite insider knowledge... this is really bad", i thought.
This might need a link to "modules", "themes" and "distributions"...
Only on 2nd look i saw the "What is this?" Badge... I think it's maybe a bit too stylish, not resembling a classic "help" link, and, at least on big screens, too far away from focus.
Ideas:
1.
Change
"Start typing the name of a module, theme or distribution..."
to
Start typing a module-, theme- or distribution- name or 'drupal' for drupal core..."
2.
Add links to modules, themes, distros just below the input field
3.
Move / restyle the Help-link to be more close to the search-field
4.
Add an animated gif below the input field, to explain...
5.
Simply put the content of the "What is this" Page on the frontpage directly... It's minimalistic enough...
6.
Explain that Drupal is a valid Project-name, that's currently only communicated by the Screenshot image on the "What is this" page

We are currently rethinking the form for the next version and it's always helpful to have a set of non-developer eyes on something.

clemens.tolboomI agree with @sirtet but it is even not clear to me. It seems I have to add my project dependencies too.
I would like to add
- the Advanced options should be open by default.
- why do I have to follow the install steps. That scares non Drupal folks too.
Telling people to test ie tour_builder on simple test me will fail as it's dependencies are not resolved. And they have no knowledge. Compare
- https://simplytest.me/project/tour_builder (misses tour_ui module installed)
There is documentation on https://www.drupal.org/docs/develop/documenting-your-project/using-simpl...
